An updated version of my take on Artemis and the Ceryneian Hind from 2015. The Ceryneian Hind, a giant golden stag, with brass hooves and golden antlers was sacred to the Moon Goddess. Artemis was also the Greek goddess of the wilderness, hunting and animals. She was later known as Diana in Roman mythology.
