540º - GRADUATION PROJECT

The project as presented at the Bezalel academy of arts and design's graduate show

Project Description:

Graphic street art with the intentions of stimulating questions
and criticism regarding controversial issues in the Israeli society.
The project contains five parts, each one deals with a certain issue.
Every part is a combination of text, written by me in a first person form,
and image making which forms together one complete piece. The parts are
over a couple of meters in size, pasted across the streets of Jerusalem, Israel.

Technique: A4 tile printing, using a CMYK ink injection home printer.

Below you can see the following:
- Digital form of each part
- Documentation of the parts
- Each part's text

(*) The textual parts aren't autobiographical, they were written intentionally
to either make the reader relate or go against the "speaker" in each work.

(*) I used home made glue, no industrial components needed.
     Ingredients: 1) flour  2) water  3)sugar
For every 3 cups of flour add 1 cup of water,
stir the mixture till there are no lumps of flour in it,
boil the mixture till u get a nice thick texture and
then add some suger - makes the glue stronger.
let it cool for about 30 min, pour it into a vessel
of your choice and you're good to go !
6 cups of flour + 2 cups of water = 1.5 liters of glue.

REALITY TV COLTURE

Translation:
Sometimes I actually wake up in the morning with them, even dance with them a bit, if i'm up for it,
the channel is on anyway. On the bus I'm fishing for some gossip on my iPhone and at work I leave
one tab open on either Walla-celebs or Xnet (their both good), that way i can get updated while working. In the evening, during supper, I watch the entertainment news and the Guy Pines show is a must,I almost never miss it. You can find some articles here and there but really, for everything there is to knowabout reality tv he's your man. Honestly, every time a season of Survivors or Big Brother ends it's likereaching the last page of a book, it's sad really. Life has no meaning without getting hooked on these kind of things, dont you think?

VIOLENCE

66" X 99"  -  57 A4's
Translation:
Everyone wants to stand in line quietly like COCCINELLES
let every ASSHOLE on the road a free pass
ask the BASTARD driver nicely to turn on air conditioning
and to smile to the waitress while giving her the FUCKING tip
get a tip from me: we ARE NOT in europe
if I want something - I take it
without waiting, without asking, without nothing

ENVIRONMENTAL AWARENESS
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
 66" X 70"  -  48 A4's
Translation:
Why the hell is she telling me to clean the table, we are at a doner kebab joint.
Besides, there are those who clean it as part of their job, they get paid for it.
If only that was the one thing she bugs me about,
there isn't a time I throw a cigarette in the street without getting weird faces from her.
There are people that show up around 06:00am with a broom, a trash can
and a yellow vest that clean it up, it's their job.
And the garbage, so i didn't get it exactly inside the trash can, so what?
there are enough garbage people with a big truck that will pick it up even if
the bag got opened and spilled, big deal, let them work a little. Those workers
with their strikes and eventually the entire city is covered with trash cause of them.

OUR ELDERLY
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
 75" X 82"  -  63 A4's
Translation:
I take good care of him, honestly, it's not that simple.
After mother died I moved him to a smaller apartment,
he doesn't need more than one room anyways, surely at his age.
It's not even that far from our home, he can drop by whenever he wants,
we are  only a bus drive away.
Also there's a guy stopping by at his place once a week,
his name is Jeffry i think, brings him a paper and everything.
He even stays with him for an hour or so if I pay him extra.
It's a little expansive but hey, that's my father we're talking aboutת
money isn't an issue - the guy raised me and all,
it's the least I can do.

BAD PARENTING
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
 47" X 75"  -  30 A4's
Translation:
We give him whatever he wants.
we take him everywhere,
its important to show him that he can ask everything.
True, he's a little stubborn sometimes,
drives us crazy, but thats the way kids are.
What kind of parents will we be
if we'll say no to him.
