I Paid A Bribe
ipaidabribe.com is Janaagraha's unique initiative to tackle corruption by harnessing the collective energy of citizens. You can report on the nature, number, pattern, types, location, frequency and values of actual corrupt acts on this website. Your reports will, perhaps for the first time, provide a snapshot of bribes occurring across your city. Janaagraha will use them to argue for improving governance systems and procedures, tightening law enforcement and regulation and thereby reduce the scope for corruption in obtaining services from the government.
My job was to redesign their existing website, by conducting a series of usability tests and basing my design on the outcome. I was asked to provide concepts for the new website, keeping in mind, metrics for the website, such as bounce rates and exit rates, needed to be kept low.
My role was to provide insight into how the website could function better, use better technology, and better experience design to improve page views and reduce bounce rates, while improving the number of complaints were registered, as compared to visitors.
