Multi-user touch table - UX / UI / IxD
Working with Pixel Project gave me the opportunity to work on concept UX/UI for a multi-user, touch table for South African Tourism (SAT) - size 2.5 x 1.2m. The table was originally routinely dismantled, and reassembled for the tourism trade exhibition circuit in Europe. SAT is the marketing arm of the Department of Tourism, so it was key that the software was engaging.
Interaction design
UX design for up to 8 simultaneous users, featuring the latest tourism campaign videos, an interactive map, trade listings, and predictive search- seriously - what more can a designer ask for!?

The table accesses a locally stored version of South African Tourism’s extensive national database. Each advertiser in the database would have their own ‘page’, surfaced through search, and filtering (preferred activity/style of holiday, etc.). The content ratio was to be 80% image or video, to 15% text information (description, popularity rating, facilities available, etc.), which made a visually impactful interface.

Users were able to add preferred content to a favourites list, which they could email directly from the table - they could also rate an advertiser, or like/share them on facebook. This extended their experience, and provided further data for SAT. Navigation of content was entirely through touch gestures.
