Åben Bookkeeping is a new business startup which offers a full range of bookkeeping, VAT and payroll services around the Worthing, Brighton and Eastbourne areas of Sussex.

Through Frank! Communications I was briefed to create Åben’s branding, develop the look of the responsive website, create some exhibitions boards and a general leaflet. The brand needed to be open, honest, straight forward, reliable and give a sense of added value.

Åben is Danish for ‘open’, which I was keen to get across in the logo, along with the idea of everything adding up, as you would expect from bookkeeping. This resulted in an open plus symbol, paired with a bespoke, simplified logo typeface.

The colourway for the branding was selected to work alongside a strong typographic focus ensuring contrast with white and each of the three colours.
