Recently I was given the opportunity to develop the brand identity for a friend of mine who's beginning the journey of starting his own media company based around the action sports lifestyle. I had a lot of fun working on this project, and it was nice to get back in touch with some old motocross friends. 

At the bottom you'll find some of the first submissions that I sent out to get a feel for what the client wanted out of this experience. In our original meeting we established we wanted to develop a circle lock-up that captured the unrefined, grungy vibe of action sports, and possibly utilize some brush lettering. He asked for a logo for the YouTube channel, as well as a similar, but distinct mark for the magazine.  

After my first submission we decided to scrap what we had and focus on a visual that was a little more unique, because the mono-line camera illustration logo is very popular in the photography industry. 

The client came back with an idea to incorporate a skull, and an old school motorcycle helmet into what we had created in the first phase of the project, so I worked on some sketches (final sketch shown below). When we found a style that we were both satisfied with I vectored the design, and gave it a variety of color treatments. I was happy with the result of this collaboration, and I'm excited to see the design on some shirts/stickers in the future.
