D&AD NEW BLOOD AWARDS 2017

For this year's D&AD awards, I chose a brief put forward by Adobe. The challenge was to visually declare what we as designers have to share, digging deep into my own hard won wisdom and life lessons and celebrating them through three illustrations or photographs.

Immediately, I thought of what I would say to my younger self if I could go back in time, in terms of advice and guidance. I created three illustrations documenting three key pieces of advice I would give to myself and to anyone else about to tread a similar path. It relates more to the art and design journey from school, to college, to university and beyond.

My responses are aimed at mainly younger people who are unsure about art and design simply because I was once in their shoes and had a lot of conflicting thoughts about the future.
