This wallcover collection was inspired by enlarged images of my handwoven material and the arrangement of different fiber components of their structure. There are two different design elements of the final collection in terms of functionally: digital patterns designed for commercial production and customized, unique wallcoverings made by hand.
This extensive sequence is a play and experiment with patterns. An exploration of how a simple idea can turn into an exciting visual experience. Based on the digital patterns 40 different variations were created and then divided into 4 collections. Lighter shades can be used to fill an entire space whilst the darker ones to highlight a specific wall section or they can be pasted on bigger wall surfaces in hotels, restaurants or bars.
The handcrafted pieces need site-specific planning; part of my work is to make recommendations for possible variations, materials and qualities. Final appearance however depends on the individual order.
