NCG, Inc. teamed with Stantec to scan theexterior faces of the elevator shaft at 900 Biscayne Boulevard in Miami,Florida. The elevator shaft walls were experiencing cracks and spalling. Aconventional survey crew was used to provide survey control at the base of thebuilding and at various floor levels of the building. 3D scans were collectedusing 2 Leica C10’s from the pool deck, various floor level balconies, and theroof top. An overall scan was collected at each setup and more detail scanswere done at the elevator shaft walls. The scans were registered together andto the survey control established using Leica’s Cyclone software. Theregistered pointcloud was delivered to be used in the creation of a 3D model ofthe building faces to design the new metal cladding for the building.
