For a movie freak like me, having the opportunity of designing the Melbourne International Film Festival poster was something of an unexpected honour. Based on a very simple concept provided by Clemenger (Only the Best Films Make the Cut), and after months of trying different approaches in terms of shape and colour, we finally came up with an image that would both conjure up the spirit of the festival and caught the eye of the audience.
Being the first time I work on a project this size (just see in how many places banners and posters are displayed) I feel nothing but excitement for having had such a great opportunity.
Some of the pictures below were taken by friends of mine in different places around Melbourne, including train stations and main streets, while others were downloaded directly from the MIFF page on Facebook.
