#Inktober2016
I participated in a world-wide, daily drawing practice through the month of October. Each day, participating artists make a drawing in ink and post it with the hashtags: #inktober and #inktober2016. My aim was to create challenging, editorial-style illustrations and experiment with the media as far as possible. These are some of my better pieces... from classic ink pen to digital experimentation.
A visual summary of Week 1
Day 1... OK let's get everyone tuned in!
Prompt word: WET... I've always wanted to harvest waterlillies and eat those succulent stalks.
Prompt word: BATTLE... those dragonflies careen into each other as they battle over floral territories.
I learned that 7 species of bees have been officially listed on the endangered list!
Prompt word: SQUEEZE... it's the only thing to do on the subway to get that available seat.
Prompt word: TIRED
Prompt word: BIG
Prompt word: SLOW... slow down and observe nature.
Prompt word: BOX....  we were all thinking about THAT box!
Prompt word: FLIGHT. I started with an ink drawing of a feather and manipulated it such that I headed towards abstraction and a curious wood-grain effect.
Back on the subway!
