Please give as much as you can to this amazing cause while celebrating Kristen's life.
I only met Kristen once, and briefly at that.
She ended her own life at the age of 15.
Her father has been a fan and supporter of my music for many years and turned Kristen on to my music as well. She was an avid fan of Freezepop and I had the pleasure meeting her at a Freezepop show last year with her dad. She had so much joy in her eyes and just radiated energy. I don't remember the show really, but I will never forget sharing that moment in time with them.
Kristen was passionate about supporting the LGBTQ cause, which is why I chose The Trevor Project. Her father shared his eulogy for Kristen which became inspiration for the song name and lyrics.
"Kristen, this song is for you.
We send you light,
We send you love,
We send you peace,
On your journey home."
We send you love,
We send you peace,
On your journey home."
LYRICS
Such Letting Go is Love
Verse 1:
they froze a disbelief
does the empirical hide the things you can't quantify, can't quantify?
watch the laws all fly
are we just air or just a container for the worlds inside?
sudden nature
takes too soon what she conceives -
no this isn't the way its supposed to be, supposed to be
now you've taken flight...
Chorus:
Such letting go
bound to roads we follow home
(to only heaven knows)
you're now travelled light under skies where all the stars explode
the psalms of the willing giving souls
we send you light we send you love we send you peace
on your journey home.
bound to roads we follow home
(to only heaven knows)
you're now travelled light under skies where all the stars explode
the psalms of the willing giving souls
we send you light we send you love we send you peace
on your journey home.
Verse 2:
do you chase the falling leaves
to a terminal tide or do they go everywhere, go everywhere?
hear the fates all sigh
no you weren't just air or just a container for the worlds inside -
you are bigger -
what you needed most to see…
are you scattered to where you're supposed to be, supposed to be?
now you've taken flight…
to a terminal tide or do they go everywhere, go everywhere?
hear the fates all sigh
no you weren't just air or just a container for the worlds inside -
you are bigger -
what you needed most to see…
are you scattered to where you're supposed to be, supposed to be?
now you've taken flight…
Chorus:
Such letting go
bound to roads we follow home
(to only heaven knows)
you're now travelled light under skies where all the stars explode
the psalms of the willing giving souls
we send you light we send you love we send you peace
on your journey home.
