Labor Day snuck up on us again this year, so Annie Wong and I made a short video to bid farewell to summer.

When the popsicles of summer have melted...

Thumbnail sketches for the video. We worked through a couple of different methods of depicting a melting popsicle revealing lettering, and this one was the winner.

Lettering sketches. The first felt too frilly and stuffy, the second conveyed the right kind of casual freshness that we were looking for. It is based on a single-stroke casual style of sign painting.
