If I have some free time, and I'm not drawing letters, you can bet I'm probably baking. This time I decided to combine the two: a hand lettered recipe! First I made myself one (or two, or three..) loaves of zucchini bread, then I photographed them and drew words all over them.

This piece came together relatively quickly: the initial sketch came out pretty much just right, with only a few adjustments to sizing, placement, and readability necessary to get it ready for a final "ink" layer.

Some close-ups of the texture of the lettering - I wanted it to look loose and rough, as if done on a chalkboard or with a pencil on textured paper; the texture on the body of the lettering was inspired by flour and sugar strewn across a counter top after baking.
