Booksmith Branding

Booksmith
I created Booksmith because I believe that If you give a damn about what you do, you should use a notebook that gives a damn too. I've heard people say they are afraid to commit their ideas to paper so I wanted to create notebooks that encourage personality and inspiration. I think a notebook should be reflective of the user and the content.

Crafting an Identity
I wanted to create an identity that was loud yet refined. Booksmith is walking the line of rugged luxury, the notebooks need to be masterfully crafted while still inspiring the artist to get their hands dirty. The logo was inspired by this idea of working with one's hands and the fact that each book is handmade. I contrasted the clean geometric shapes of the logo with the imperfect and ever changing texture of a stamp to help reflect the rugged luxury within the brand.

The Digital Brand
With the philosophy of Booksmith set in print, it was time to translate that design to the digital world. I started on instagram to show Booksmith's dedication to craft and find like minded people. Besides social media I wanted to make sure I had a website where my brand could live. The main goal behind my website was to preach the brand, I wanted to create fans of the brand.
