Learning about chakras back in 2013, I couldn't help but internalize what I'd learned about chakra blocking, and how each of those manifested in my personal presence. So the idea was to quickly illustrate, as a self-awareness exercise, the ways each of my chakras were blocked, and work through how I could push forward with becoming my best self. This was intended to be a smaller project, but one night after work I sat down and played Superbrothers: Sword and Sworcery, and the meditative ambience and overall aesthetic of it got me into a creative mood and I got lost in rendering the first in the series (Heart is in the head). So over time, I completed each one, creating one whenever I needed to work through a problem that related to that chakra.
These were drawn in tech pencil at about 6 inches in height, scanned in, and colored in photoshop using scans of handmade vegetable papers I had made and layered.
