Research:
On this page I am showing my research and inspirations for my work project.
‘’Doin’ it in the park’’ is a documentary about street ball in New York. The film was made by a photographer and a film maker. These two went around all New York city basketball courts and played pickup basketball with the people there. The documentary reflects the fact that basketball is a well honoured and played sport in New York. It also reveals how great the city is and how friendly people are. This video really inspired me because it is linked to my theme. It is also useful because it gave me few ideas of settings and background which I am going to be using in my design.
This is the poster for the movie. As you can see the photos have a posterise effect which make it look street. The background is simple and faded which makes the typography and photo stand out more.

It was 1969. The National Basketball Association was locked in a bitter battle against its upstart rival, the American Basketball Association. At stake: fans, players, media — and millions of dollars.
The NBA turned to Alan Siegel, founder of Siegel+Gale.
Seeking inspiration, Siegel pored through the photo archives of Sportmagazine. A particular photo of the All-Star Jerry West grabbed his attention: It was dynamic, it was vertical, it captured the essence of the game.

Street ball legends :Hot Sauce
Philip Champion also known as "Hot Sauce", is an American basketball player who has played on the Streetball AND1 Mixtape Tour from its creation in 2002. In 2006, he played a role in the movie Crossover. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Philip_Champion
Hot sauce is one of the most influential street baller that existed . His technique and skills always wow the crowd and it also became an internet sensation where one player dribble past his defender and makes his defender fall due the cross overs performed. This is called an ankle breaker. Hot sauce is well known as the best ankle breaker and his skills are always copied by people during a streetball game.
