2016 JEOPARDY MAGAZINE #52

As the print designer for the 2016 issue of Jeopardy Magazine, I wanted to direct the design away from the branding of the past issues in order to bring an energy that alludes to a vibrant past.

Jeopardy Magazine strives to be a showcase of the unique talents of Western Washington University students, staff, faculty, and alumni. It aims to give resonance to those voices who’ve strolled the streets of Bellingham, drifted through classes in the campus buildings such as Old Main and Miller Hall, or wandered lost through the Arboretum.

The Magazine has a rich history - starting in 1963 as a very politically and socially relevant publication. The annual magazine has shifted from various themes but had landed on a standard literary and fine arts showcase of talents. In order to bring back that original energy that it was founded on, I used visually engaging design with specific elements that referenced the history and a return to the edgy stance that Jeopardy once had.
