+SANCTUM 2016+ (Part 1)
Selected pieces from a series of inkwashes this past spring. The series consists of ancient and medieval architecture with a restricted pallet; india, payne's gray, red earth, walnut and white inks to evoke a gothic atmosphere.

This series builds on the previous inkwashes, and their themes of ruins and desolation. Abandoned and isolated, these sanctuaries have fallen, through neglect, or willful destruction. Now these sanctums remain, mere shadows of their former glory, inexorably crumbling into dust.
