CF Salamis, is an uppercase display font based on the iconic types that are still used for the "for rent" and "for sale" public notices in Greece.

This anonymous design is a fine example of the 20th century greek vernacular. An early version of the font was first used during an experimental linguistic workshop conducted with TIND on May of 2014 on Gallery of Merchants hosted by Traces of Commerce.

Images created during the workshop.

These letterforms are rooted in the wood types extensively used in printing during the 19th century, for public notices, announcements, posters and other ephemera. The types relate to the Tuscan Pointed woodtype style and are a unique greek version of this kind.

CF Salamis comes in two versions, regular and reversed, which also contains a set of decorative endpoint ornaments. Std version supports Greek, Western European, Turkish and Romanian languages.

CF Salamis was designed by Vassilis Georgiou, Yiannis Karlopoulos & Panos Haratzopoulos.
