Building Up the North aims to bring attention to the man-made beauty of the North Country, from the eyes of the people who live there. In the fall of 2014, residents of Northern New York were invited to submit photos of man-made structures around the area, and the public was invited to vote for their favorites. Potsdam artist Catherine LaPointe turned the highest rated photos into mixed-media paintings for a joint exhibit.
