mr. mnmly - a web magazine WIP

Today I would annouce my work in progress project, which is a web magazine, which is dedicated to be a minimal and user-device friendly first.

Almost every website is designed with basic RWD principles but its implementation leaves much to be desired. Videos, animated gifs, ultra-hd photos are killing our browser and our internet transfer/connection.

My main goal here is to create minimal, but very functional website which will be pretty intuitive for users and don't take much transfer to load.

Articles are divided into separate columns - every one of them is connected to other category. In addition, they're linked to category button filter with same font/background color.
When user scroll down, the menu will stick to the top of the browser window and stay visible.
Website view on mobile - category names will stay shorten.
But as You can see, it expands to full name on hover (below is the example with "media" button).
Please tell me what You think. At the moment I also plan to add article numeration to help users notice new posts and add :visited state color (gray) for visited links.

There will be also a date between the first screen with the menu and column grid, which will indicate the date of the newest post publication.
