STUDIO III
This project was commissioned by Andenken Art Gallery in Denver, CO asan artists studio space. The requirements for the project were tobuild a studio at the lowest possible cost that could house manydifferent types of artists, as there work space, while still allowingfor adequate storage and possible sleeping space.
The space is 148ft sq, and is 12ft at its highest point and completely lifted on a steel frame with 15 heavy duty casters. This allows for the space to be moved freely about the surrounding warehouse space which creates the possibility of rearranging for any purpose. Much of the detailed portions of Studio III are from salvage and/or surplus stores (as well as things for free and for trade). The floor is stained with an all natural, handmade stain, and finished with a whey protein urythane finish.
