The saying “Permyak salty ears” is historically associated with the development of salt pans in Perm region. Modern stories about Perm region were based on historical facts and had become the foundation for the line of souvenirs.
Folk ironic cultural expression and quotes (“themselves with mustaches” (which means being independent and self-sufficing), “do not rash salt to my injury” (don't hurt me), “all salt is here”(the whole point)) were transformed in rhyming and assonant slogans. As a result, new coinages, with characteristic Permian “ears” and “salt” were born: “do not rash salt on my ears”, “themselves with ears”, “all salt is here” (in the right ear).
