The New Storm Has Made Land Fall in Portland, Maine.
This is our final project in Color Theory course. It involves relocating a current sports team to a new city and creating a new identity and a limited collateral package to promote the new team. This project includes creation of a specific logo and finished designs. It allows us to demonstrate and refine our design skills and it reinforces the importance of researching our subject.

The Logo.
THE NEW STORM
My main focus in this logo is to develop a whirl that is obvious and yet not too busy to look at. The whirl forms an "S" for storm. I also carefully create the edge of the twirl to look like hockey stick. I decided to keep the eye of the storm simple and yet representational.
I then create a solid drop shadow to emphasize the object than having an outline all-over it. I add a bold H background that looks like a two tall buildings indented that seemingly fall into the flowing force of the hurricane. The background serves as an enclosure of the logo itself.
