With over 20% international students and academics, The University of Sydney needed a way to present themselves to future students and academics abroad. Our solution was “Here” – an interactive short film showing a day-in-the-life of five students at the university. Shot with 360° cameras, visitors could follow their story and have a look around the campus.
At any point in the film, users could pause the narrative film and explore that particular scene at their own pace, discovering details, other student stories, historic facts and more about each specific area – all embedded straight into our highly customised video player. Upon resuming the film, it seamlessly started exactly where it left off.
For mobile we made sure that no app download was needed, by making everything available in your mobile browser. To switch between the narrative film and the exploration layer, you simply flip your phone between portrait and landscape.
