Ria Timkin writes wonderfully quirky songs about life, about growing up, becoming independent and mature. Originally from Russia, she's come to Bristol to study, but you're likely to find her in one of the city's music venues or busking.

 

Ria got in touch as she was after some promo photos for the programme for the Bristol Harbour Festival this year - she'll be playing on the cascade steps on the weekend of 17-19 July - so we spent a couple of hours taking a little stroll around the harbourside on a sunny May evening.
