Esse foi um projeto acadêmico desenvolvido durante meu intercâmbio no Instituto de Arte, Design e Tecnologia de Dun Laoghaire, na Irlanda.
Cada estudante recebeu uma tipografia e o briefing consistia em criar um pôster, frente e verso, onde apresentaríamos a fonte e seus glifos. A minha foi a Scala, desenhada por Martin Majoor em 1990 para o Muziekcentrum Vredenburg em Utrecht, Holanda.
É uma tipografia com raízes na metade do século 18 e que possui uma boa variedade de pesos em sua família.

A ideia para o pôster foi explorar os diferentes pesos encontrado em ambas versões, serifada e sem serifa, em contraste com sua anatomia.

This was an academic project developed during my exchange in Dun Laoghaire Institute of Art, Design and Technology, in Ireland.
Each student were given a typeface and the briefing consisted in create a poster, front and back, where we would present the typeface and its glyphs. The one I was given was Scala, designed by Martin Majoor in 1990 for the Muziekcentrum Vredenburg in Utrecht, Netherlands.
It is a typography with roots in the middle of the eighteenth century and has a wide range of weights in its family.
The idea for the poster was to explore the different weights we can find in both Scala sans and Scala slab serif in contrast with its anatomy.

Meu passo inicial foi estudar, primeiramente em papel, as formas e possíveis combinações interessantes que a tipografia possibilitava. Ainda sem pensar em cores.
Após essa etapa inicial, e com alguns feedbacks dos professores, comecei as interações digitais e aplicação de cor, onde só depois dela cheguei ao resultado final.

My initial step was to study, firstly in paper, the shapes and possibles interesting combinations the typography allowed. Yet not thinking in colors.
After this first step, and with feedback from the lectures, I started the digital interactions and color application, where only after that I defined the final layout for the poster.

O pôster final foi impresso em formato B3 e exposto durante o Open Day do IADT, evento promovido para o público para apresentar o trabalho dos estudantes e informar sobre as possibilidades de atuação dos cursos do instituto.

The final poster was printed in the B3 format and exposed during the IADT Open Day, event promoted to the public to present the students projects and inform about the possibilities in the market of the courses lectured in the institute.
