Final Logo design
This was the first logo that I presented to the client who was happy with it, but the people they were dealing with in Edinburgh were not happy with the Scottish Parliament building representing Edinburgh, as people might not realise what it was.
The reasoning behind this design was the Capital of Scotland in the past and now. Dunfermline was the seat of Kings and Edinburgh is now the seat of Scottish Parliament.
Using the same letter 'e' at the end of Dunfermline and beginning of Edinburgh is to symbolize how close the 2 cities are to one another.
Various other attempts of designing the logo that would be acceptable by both the Dunfermline and Edinburgh interested parties.
Adding windows to the parliament building was making the logo too cluttered.
Edinburgh wanted a tower so I used the tower from their coat of arms and turned the flag around so it was pointing to the future. I felt that this did not fit in with the ancient and new capital concept.
Decided to totally simplify each side of the bridge and make them both the same so created arrow heads pointing in direction of the 2 cities.
Final Logo
Made the arrow heads the same colour as the letter 'e' so the were more prominent and client requested that 'Inspring Capital' be changed to 'Todays Capital'
Client then also required a small map featuring the bridges over the Firth of Forth to be used as their profile image on their Facebook page. I created this small image keeping it as simple as I could.
