Christian Study Groups for the Adult Crowd

Christian Study Groups - Ethnographic/Contextual Research
SCAD - MA Design Management - IDUS 711: Methods of Contextual Design - Fall 2014 Quarter
This project was an introduction to contextual research through the process of gathering information during field work observations, analyzing data, and synthesizing the data. Also, this project was ethnographic as it involved the observation and study of people in a given church-based social environment. The project focused understanding a culture and answering the questions of who, what, where, when, why, and how. After this a research question was created, which focused on the idea of why study groups are beneficial to Christianity. This process led the group, made of up Brittany Strozzo (me), Cheryl Edenfield, and Ian DeJesus. Together we had to create many different types of models, including but not limited to opportunity maps and various diagrams, as well as collaborate online in order to solve the research question, combine our research, and in turn create an analysis in regards to all information collected from our different church environments which were made up of inter-denominational, catholic, and baptist backgrounds. This proved rather insightful as each church functioned rather differently.

(Please view the process book from issuu.com. Research and fact organization was conducted by all, digrams were created by all, the overall design of the process book was work carried out by Brittany Strozzo (me) and edited by group members. Click on the image to enlarge.)
