The Back Burner is an upscale "wine-bar" restaurant in my hometown: Hockessin, Delaware. I rebranded it, drawing inspiration from woodcut letterforms and grape and vine-based imagery. After creating the ornate "B" as the logo, I searched for typefaces the complemented it's shape and form, and used them to format letterhead, business cards, and ultimately, a menu. The menu draws attention to their copious wine selection, and is set on a wooden board. On the back of the wood is an engraved, larger version of the logo, reminding customers of where they are, and adding a bit of sophistication to an otherwise "ordinary" board. I also mocked up a version of their website that fits with the new brand, and could be used to peruse the menu or make reservations in advance.
