I was contacted to do the layout and graphic design for the third and final issue of Nocturnes magazine. Since it was the final issue, and in keeping with the title, I used a moonset as the concept for the cover.

The issue had four stories with an illustration for each. I used a two column layout to achieve an optimal line length for reading. The Whitney typeface family was used for all display and copy text with the exception of the custom face for the title, which was designed by someone else for the first issue.

To break up the paragraphs a bit, I set the beginnings of different sections in bold small caps. The first line of each story also had a large drop cap and was set in red.
