Created for a weekly student led design discussion group at my University (Birmingham City University). I decided to promote my talk entitled: "Revenge of the Nerds" which will be on show around the Parkside campus until the 26th November.
My talk centres around the notion that so called 'Nerds' have been undermined and poked fun at thoughout human history yet they are essentially a core foundation for human advancement. Leading to my idea that 'Nerds' are actually overcoming belittlement and petty targeted abuse to create and perform some of the human races' most impressive feats.
A perfect example being the recent 'controversy' caused by Dr Matt Taylor; the comet scientist who, after being the first of our species to successfully land a probe onto a moving Comet (this should have been the highlight moment of his life), was savaged cut down by far right internet feminists for wearing a shirt with patterned images of semi-clothed women. He was then seen breaking down and was forced to apologise.
