When creating the cover design for this academic literary magazine, I wanted to create something that looked soft and sweet while still being eye-catching. As always, I love to add little Easter eggs to my work, so each of the books has a title that corresponds to a chapter in the actual magazine. 

The inner illustrations hold a strong contrast to the cover, as intended. The magazine itself contains some dark subject matter and I wanted to convey that through the illustrations. They needed to feel heavy and stark. 

The outside is appealing and sweet while the inside is dark.
