Nebraska takes down Rutgers to get second Big 10 win of the season 
A late interception by Myles Farmer seals the game for the Cornhuskers 


Nebraska has taken huge steps in the right direction with back to back Big ten wins. The Cornhuskers have now won games against Indiana and Rutgers and set a record in the Big Ten West with a 2-1 record in conference play.  

Casey Thompson struggled early on with two interceptions, but managed to close out the game strong against the Scarlet Knights. Thompson threw a touchdown pass to tight end Travis Vokolek on an easy touchdown pass and then followed later on with a pass to Trey Palmer in the back of the endzone.  

Nebraska has a 6-0 all time record against Rutgers now and have beaten them five times since the Scarlet Knights joined the BIg Ten.  

Rutgers is now on a three game losing streak after starting the season 3-0 against a couple of solid teams, They will look to grow off of this loss next week against the Indiana Hoosiers. Nebraska has beaten both of these teams and it will be interesting to see who comes out on top. 

Casey Thompson now has nine touchdown passes on the season and has six interceptions. Thompson’s quarterback rating sits at a 53.2 which puts him in the bottom half of the NCAA in passer rating.  

Anthony Grant has 647 rushing yards on the season along with five touchdown runs. Grant is averaging about 4.9 yards per carry and is near the top of the NCAA in rushing yards per game.  

The Husker defense played well during Rutger with three interceptions and three sacks on the day against Evan Simon. Brandon Moore, Myles Farmer, and Malcolm Hartzog each had an interception on the night. 

The Huskers now sit at 3-3 on the season and have winnable games ahead on the schedule for the rest of the season. The Huskers will play against Purdue to try and get its third Big Ten win on the season. They will look for a above .500 record for the first time this season.
