Printing with Acetate:
I wanted to experiment more deeply with my photography, and that how I came across acetate printing. Acetate printing needs acetate film media, this is completely transparent, creating the see through look when the image is printed onto it. For acetate to be done, you must convert your chosen image to greyscale then you must invert it using photoshop. As shown below.
Next for printing, for this type of printing you must use the 'by pass tray' rather than the original printing tray used for most other printing. To do this you go onto the extra printing settings and click onto paper feed and click by pass tray. Then you place the acetate paper onto the designated tray and wait for it to print.
Scanning in old film:
Originally i wanted to scan in old film that i had previously developed to get an idea on how it would look. i used a negative scanner in order to do this, but i didn't really like how it was scanning in and decided that i didn't want to do the acetate printing with film. However if i am to have time in my exam i will be doing the acetate with my images that i have captured.
