Cultivate is a non-profit organization whose mission is to provide healthy, locally grown, nutrient-packed vegetables and herbs to Milwaukee communities. This program allows high school students the opportunity to not only harvest and prepare plants for purchase but also learn entrepreneurial and marketing skills as well.

Throughout 5 and a half months, across 2 locations we remodeled and revamped the spaces—installing a total of 5 murals. Including 3 logos and 2 custom whiteboard walls. The color palettes were chosen based on the organization's brand kit. The main goal of the projects were to cultivate a bright space for the students to encourage creativity, learning, and inspiration. 

This was the first of 3 murals of the organization's logo in the pilot training room at the primary location. On the left is the concept submitted to the client to ensure measurements and placement before the installation. The image on the right is the final mural.

When I first toured the space the walls were green and purple. Using the design already on the walls we revamped the colors to match the organization's brand colors. As well as added the logo and the tagline 'Cultivate Yourself Then Everyone Reaps The Harvest'. It was important to include this in the main space so that while the students were working on cultivating the plants and shooting content they could also be reminded of the impact of the work they are doing.

This experience was also rewarding because not only were the students able to see the process of the murals and the space coming to life, but I also had the opportunity to mentor one of the students and bring her along every step of the process.
