Mountain Mama Chicks is a local business in the Swannanoa Valley that sells fully feathered specialty chicks to homeowners wanting to have their own chickens. They reached out to me because they were ready to take their business to the next level and needed a website. 

At this point they had a logo, but aside from that they did not have a visual brand identity. So to start things off on the right foot, I created a visual brand identity for them.

The general vibes of Mountain Mama Chicks are earthy, feminine, & mountain country. To stand out from their competition, I decided to pair an approachable serif heading font with a clean, classic san serif text font. A quirky medium weight mono text adds a playful option for call to actions, headings, or other specialty text. 

The color pallet draws on earthy colors (sage & clay) with a touch of femininity (dusty rose & muted primrose). Creme provides a warm balance to the color, while forest offers a dark warm contrast.

Their original logo was great, but it needed a few adjustments to further stand out from the competition, attract the right audience, and make it easy to work with in the future. 

First I swapped the bold san serif font for a lighter serif font that is more feminine & approachable. Next I cleaned up the chicken illustration to make the mountains more distinctive & the chicken more balanced. Originally their logo was a jpeg with a yellow background, now their logo has a transparent background & easier to use in different settings.

I also created a few logo variation so they have options for different sized space - like the navigation bar or footer on their website.

Brand badges & icons can be used for brand touch points such as packaging, social media, stickers, printed materials, apparel, and more.

Brand patterns further separate Mountain Mama Chicks from the competition & help create a cohesive experience for their audience.
