Triplex Model Shoe

TRIPLEX MODEL SHOE
I was tasked with producing exact replicas of a chosen footwear item, using only white triplex board and maintaining a 1:1 scale.
Activity 1: Full Model Shoe
This model pushed the limits of what I thought was possible from myself. I faced a multitude of challenges throughout the process and combatted them with patience, and the skills I acquired throughout the making of the model. Struggling with time management and the difficulty of the material itself, I used a steaming technique to shape and mould the triplex while using scoring techniques to detail the body, further refining everything with sanding. Overall, I am very proud and happy with this work.
Activity 2: Section Model
This model was far more challenging than the first one. I had to create a section of the shoe which portrays the half of one side of the shoe and it was difficult to plan and figure out how to go about its construction. It pushed my limits in terms of time management and I found myself rushing pretty much every aspect of it. I did not get a chance to add detail, and if any, it was poorly done.
Activity 3: Tooling Block Model
The third and final model shoe was a challenge. This model challenged my brain's standard way of thinking and pushed it outside of the box. I struggled once again with time management as well as with how to build the inverse structure of the shoe to create an imprint. I ended up steaming all the pieces and moulding them around my reference shoe.
