The South African Department of Cultural Affairs and Sport needed an award that would be given to the candidate that most contributed to the development of drama in South Africa for 2009.
I was inspired by the classic greek drama masks but wanted to add a contemporary feel while hinting at African shields and stylings. The award is completely manufactured out of sustainable materials, articulating the need for society’s adoption of renewable recourses. The award was given out at an awards dinner held in early 2010.
