Tarang TV re-branding

Tarang Television, commonly known as Tarang TV is an Odia-language based general entertainment television channel. Based in Bhubaneswar, India, it is owned by Odisha Television Ltd. Tarang is a digitally encrypted 24x7 Odia entertainment channel. While re-branding the on-air package as well as the colour scheme for Tarang tv channel the brief was pretty open, looking for some organic graphic explorations and keeping the heritage of the Odia Culture on screen. Two inputs : Chandua and Patachitra.
The raw inspiration is from Chandua work of Pipili. On the way from Bhubaneswar to Puri Pipili is a small village. On the main road at Pipili there are many shops selling Chandua work products, tourist visiting Puri buy these products from Pipili. It is famous in Orissa as well as in India for it's Chandua craft. These are brightly coloured patches of fabric, cut into animal and flower shapes, are sewn onto clothes for home decor.
Proposed colours were blue and orange-red and landed on the gorgeous orange-red composition.
After choosing the colours we dived into making textures and artworks.
Pattachitra, meaning 'cloth-picture/painting' in Sanskrit, is a generalised term used to describe a style and format of painting with origins in Odissa (now Odisha) and West Bengal. Patachitra artform is known for its intricate details as well as mythological narratives and folktales inscribed in it.
