I wanted the colour to have a deeper meaning than just being picked for looking good. I experimented with creating painting colour from matcha tea. When I feel stressed out and overwhelmed, I try to avoid coffee, and I drink matcha instead. Also, the green colour is calming and grounding.

the logo consists of the letters “O” and “W” from the word “overwhelmed”. Placed on top of each other, these letters symbolize a head and hands. They can be interpreted as juggling (dealing with many things) or feeling confused (not knowing what to choose). With a touch of fantasy, they can also represent balance or meditation. This symbol opens up possibilities for further play and modifications.

In search of well-balanced, open, serif, strong yet calming and non-intrusive contemporary typeface I came across Alverata. 

Campaign
I first created a campaign aiming to convey the absurdity of the outlined issue in a humorous and thought-provoking manner. It also introduces some basic techniques. But to not overwhelm people even more, it's placed where people usually don't have anything else to do anyway. Instead of scrolling through social media, people could use the five minutes waiting for a bus to get grounded. I incorporated some interactive and tangible elements and created an experience just for that particular moment.

This book is a collection of the ideas used in the campaign but processed in a more personal and interactive form. It aims to serve as a grounding item and might be a thoughtful gift for someone experiencing overwhelming feelings. With dimensions of 90 x 90 mm, it is easily portable and suitable for carrying in a bag. 

In order to give each book a personal touch and to be potentially able to manufacture it by me, all parts in different than black color are not classically printed but painted with a brush and watercolor, cut on plotter, and added after printing. The light line on the book covers is a paper tape.
