There are hundreds of thousands Malaysian students overseas in Australia, New Zealand, UK, Egypt, US, Indonesia, Taiwan and many more. The governing bodies realise the need to engage more with these students while at the same time improving their talents and thus an idea of a student portal was born.
It is aimed to cater for the students' needs such as connecting with peers (in other countries), jobs or internship opportunities, basic information directories, news and happenings etc. with the government's needs which are reducing brain drain, managing the talents, run students programmes and so on.
The plan was to convey these objectives with features such as personalised dashboard for personal data and online services, localised services that are tailor-made for Malaysian students abroad, and creating environment such as forum to encourage students' engagements.
The challenge was to design an intuitive and seamless user interface to encourage the students to interact with each other.
