Catharsis is a Surface Manipulation Project developed under the brand A Humming Way on the theme, "Regeneration in Nature". Based on brand and trend research the aim was to develop commercially viable swatches for a womenswear collection.
Brief provided by the brand : A Humming Way believes "Texture is a result of time". Based on the ideology, we would love to see the Textures of Earth consisting of patterns and textures that nature and humanity has to offer all around the world, whether it is from mountains, water, tree barks, river stones or complex manmade structures, etc. A true celebration of Earth's beauty and all the interesting things it has created throughout with time. There will be things that will take million years to make, and things that only took decades. Since a part of us has always been inclined towards avante garde/ three-dimensional effects via fabric manipulation design students can create textures of earth which has a perfect combination of visual as well as touch feel to it.
