13 Patterns Inspired by the Beach
One thing I love about living by the Mediterranean is cycling down to the beach on winter mornings, to observe how the sand and other coastal elements were carved by winds and tides overnight. Every day and every time the beach looks a little different. I’ve been documenting it over the years through this ongoing pattern collection, as a way to tell the story of the coast through abstraction.
When travelling to other countries and islands, I've also gotten to pick up on new details local to those beaches. Like this algae from Malibu, California, or these footsteps under the sunset of Formentera.
