After reading more about this infamously misrepresented historical figure and his contributions to the Romanian past, I wanted to create my version of a portrait in the engraving/woodcut style from around that period of history. 

Of course, you can't talk about Vlad The Impaler without addressing his brutality, and whether in reference to what actually took place, or the vampiric folklore that came to pop culture many years later, his name is synonymous with death.

Hence why I decided to encompass his portrait in a singular drop of blood.
