BRIEF
Longhorn + Lace is an online boutique with a wide variety of products including clothing, jewelry, and candles. Rielly reach out to me wanting to do a full rebrand of her business with the goal of sticking with the current southern boutique style her brand had. Her original logo was a monogram of two "L". With this refresh, I knew I wanted to incorporate the distinctive longhorn silhouette and I also knew I wanted to somehow visually showcase the balance between hard and soft.

SOLUTION
With the name Longhorn + Lace, I knew I wanted to create a logo that was both strong and structured like a longhorn, but was also light, and delicate like lace. So, I designed a brandmark that incorporated the visuals of both a strong longhorn skull and a flowy, delicate wheat leaf in a line art style that lent itself to the typical southern boutique style.
For the logotype, I wanted to bring in that same structured yet delicate look. To accomplish this, I went with a classic, bold serif typeface for "Longhorn" and paired it with a delicate, and flowy cursive typeface for "Lace" to achieve that balance.
