HÉTÉROTOPY - TAPESTRY - in collaboration with Néolice/manufacture Robert Four - Aubusson - France - 2023
In 2022 appears Hétérotopies, a great ecological epic woven with woolen thread which tells the clash of civilizations. Like an abundant naive tale, the work stands vertically and borrows its name from Michel Foucault's essay which defines Hétérotopies like a multitude of imaginary spaces anchored in reality, a physical location of utopia. Like a "cartographic theater" and in direct reference to the tradition of hand-woven Afghan "war carpets", the multiple scenes depicted unfold to narrate the madness of humans, the conquest of territories and natural resources. , the urban-nature duality and the courage of minorities to face up to globalized expansion.
