PROCESS
I started writing down my likes and dislikes. From music to movies I like to things that make me a dysfunctional child like sweating and socializing.
When I had that I had to come up with a pose. I knew I didn't just want to do a boring one, so I made two sketches of me sitting on the ground. I actually sit in those poses a lot, but obviously I added some flair or I would look like a gremlin.
In the examples of meet the artists I saw, I saw one person who turned themselves into a DND character. So I thought I might turn myself into Spiderman.
I tried two more poses of me sticking to a wall and one with swinging. I eventually settled on one i drew on another page, which is the right picture.
After I chose a pose and I had like half a plan, I started making a moodboard on Pinterest. I wanted that clothes over the suit vibe from Miles Morales, because Miles is one of my favorite spiderpeople, but I wanted to combine it with something from the movie Spiderman Homecoming. The Web Fluid notes are from that movie, so I used those kind of letters for my name and the subheadings. I wanted that notes/notebook look as if my meet the artist matched the Web Fluid notes. I also used the flat brush in procreate to create that marker look.
I took a picture of the sketch and exported it to procreate. Then I tried out some outfits. I knew I wanted regular clothes over the spidersuit I was going to draw, because of, again, Miles Morales. I just went over a couple outfits I wear a lot and that I am comfortable in, which are shots with a shirt, shorts with a cropped hoodie, baseball shorts with the cropped hoodie, shorts with a regular hoodie and then lastly normal pants with a top. I figured the normal pants weren't practical at all, so I eventually went for the hoodie and the shorts.
First sketch vs line art
Then I started coloring. I didn't really have a solid plan here, I just that I knew I wanted a suit kind of inspired by this shot in the movie. So I wanted a blue/dark blue base with some different colored highlights or spiderwebs. I also wanted that purple look in there.
If you look at the closeups you can see the pinkish lines and webs as details on the suit. I really wished I had made them much brighter.

In the process of drawing the character, I thought that my original sketchbook/notes idea was suddenly terrible because I saw so many other things. I just looked at other meet the artists on pinterest and a lot of them had these like squares with then the text in that square and the character around it, so I kind of dropped my original idea. I seriously don't know any other explanation for that besides insecurity and first assignment in new school year stress.

Then I made this. I set this up as a test, but I hated it.

So I deleted that and drew an actual notebook. I used the same pink color because I still thought it matched the suit of the character. I put the character on the sketchbook and then thought I also needed a portrait so I could show my face, since most of it was covered by the mask.

So I drew a portrait or myself (which took me way too long as in like three hours) and then I looked at it again and, here we are again, hated it. But I didn't want to throw away those three hours of work, so I put some filters on it and made it look like a pencil drawing.
When I was finally satisfied with that, I added text and that marker look and little drawings all over the page.
I added all the information I wanted on there, also some unfinished art I thought would fill the space on the right. I put my favorite songs there, my favorite shows and movies, my favorite animal and my plushies that I sleep with every night.

In my inventory I put my headphones, my Ipad and my laptop and some apple juice. Almost everywhere I go a bring some apple juice so that's why.
I put my laptop in because that's the object that I use most in my life for school and for writing my own book. I talk about it way too much.
Under the headphones i put the covers of my favorite songs or albums, which include Good old fashioned lover boy by Queen,
Then you see two plushies named Barry and Sasha. I buy a lot of plushies and I give them all names but those two are my favorites.
