THE PROJECT
-
D.C.M.P. (Dancefloor Cleaning Maintenance Program) originates as an abstract representation
of dance, a microcosm of spontaneously moving particles where
there is no pre-established narrative, but rather a strong emphasis on participation.
The exploration of this complex landscape has a soundtrack made up of simple
elements, loops and sound manipulations. Intricate rhythmic patterns, deep basslines,
and soft analog sounds blended with digital glitches have resulted in a mini album of six
tracks, released by Absolute Records, with the addition of two techno remixes by
Vincenzo Pizzi and Alessandro Giustini, also known as Lunatik. The 45-minute live
performance consists of an audio-visual experience where the music and visuals
create a constant positive tension. The videos are all original footage of the
artwork “Superfici Magnetiche” by Davide Boriani, founder of the Gruppo T, a kinetic
art collective of the 1960s. Boriani's most famous work continues to mesmerize
audiences, showcasing the metamorphic qualities of metallic dust in a hypnotic,
continuous motion.
